Regular Show

After finding and expanding their success with the Adventure Time comics, KaBOOM! Studios are adapting another Cartoon Network property into comic book form with Regular Show. Regular Show, the Emmy-award winning series by J. G. Quintel, follows the animated exploits of two laid back friends, Mordecai and Rigby, dealing with surreal situations as groundskeepers for a local park. The series will be illustrated by New York cartoonist Allison Strejlau and written by K.C. Green, famous for his often cruel, but always hilarious, webcomic Gunshow.

KaBOOM! assigning Green as writer for the Regular Show comic continues their recent practice of hiring prominent webcomic authors to their licensed books, such as Ryan North (Dinosaur Comic) for the main Adventure Time comics, or Meredith Gran (Octopus Pie) for the Marceline and The Scream Queens miniseries. Going by Green’s words, the KaBOOM! series will follow a self-contained story structure and explore the backgrounds of secondary characters from the show. The series will arrive in April, but a short story featuring the blue jay and raccoon duo will appear in KaBOOM’s Free Comic Book Day Summer Blast in May.
