Love Live! The School Idol MovieVideo game and anime distributor NIS America announced it will produce an English dub of the popular anime series, Love Live! School Idol Project, along with handling the theatrical screening of the upcoming movie in North America.

Previously available as a sub-only release, NIS America will record an English dub of the first season of Love Live! School Idol Project and sell it as a standard edition release. The home media release of the English dub will still feature the original Japanese voice track with English subtitles. More info on the second season release of the series will be available at a later date. No news yet on who will play who in the English dub of Love Live!

Also announced today was the worldwide theatrical release of Love Live! The School Idol Movie. The North American screening will happen on September 12, 2015 and will feature English subtitles for the Japanese audio track. According to the press release, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, New York City, and Washington, D.C. are among the cities to show the film.

Otonokizaka High School is planning to close within three years. However, nine female students come together with one thing in mind—to form an idol group to revive the school’s popularity and keep it from shutting down. “In order to protect our beloved school, there’s only one thing we can do… become school idols!” Their goal is simple: become an overnight sensation and use their nationwide media exposure to promote their school and bring in a wave of new students to the ailing area. A simple but solid plan, they figure. Naturally, they’re nervous and wonder if this plan can really succeed, but for better or worse their journey continues…
