VIZ Media’s Shojo Beat imprint added two new shojo manga series: Kyousuke Motomi’s QQ Sweeper arrives in October, and Arina Tanemura’s Idol Dreams arrives in November.

“We’re extremely excited to announce the addition of these great new series from two of the biggest names in shojo manga,” says Nancy Thistlethwaite, Shojo Beat Senior Editor. “Readers will definitely want to add Kyousuke Motomi’s paranormal romantic adventure, QQ Sweeper, as well as Arina Tanemura’s Idol Dreams, about a woman who gets a second chance to relive her youth and become a star, to their manga reading lists this Fall and Winter!”

Kyousuke Motomi first debuted in the 2002 Japanese shojo manga anthology, Deluxe Betsucomi, with the story No-Good Cupid. In addition to being already known to readers of the VIZ Media titles Beast Master and Dengeki Daisy, she is also the creator of the Handsome Beads Club. Motomi’s QQ Sweeper is a supernatural high school drama, which revolves around Kurokado High’s talk, dark and handsome cleaning expert, Kyotaro Horikita, and the transfer student Fumi Nishioka. Not the custodian that you’d expect, Kyotaro cleanses the school of evil spirits with Kyutaro’s help.

Arina Tanemura began her career in 1996 when her short stories debuted in Ribon magazine. The publication of I•O•N in 1997 made her famous, and since then she has been a major name in shojo manga, known for Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne, as well as the VIZ titles Time Stranger Kyoko, Full Moon, and The Gentlemen’s Alliance. In Idol Dreams, 31 year old career woman Chikage Deguchi feels that life has passed her by. Embarrassed by rumors that she’s still a virgin (true), Chikage takes an experimental drug that turns back the clock for her, and the now 15 year old Chikage is determined to live life to the fullest and even pursue her dreams of being a pop music star.

Both shojo manga are rated T for Teens and will launch in print for 9.99 U.S. / 12.99 CAN. They will also be available digitally via the VIZ website, the VIZ Manga app, and select VIZ partners’ digital platforms.
