Spike TV to show Olympus, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead for free in the UK

Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad

Viacom owned Spike launches in the UK on April the 15th as part of the the Channel 5 family. It will be free, and show several programmes that have previously only been available via subscription.

Breaking Bad features as part of the opening night line-up and every episode will be shown. FX and Channel 5 previously aired the first two seasons but it failed to attract viewers. It found a new home on Netflix and became widely regarded as one of the best pieces of TV of all time. Spike also has the rights Olympus, possibly Justified according to a rumour, sporadically shown but highly respected Sons of Anarchy and season 5 of The Walking Dead.

Spike will also show Lip Sync Battle, a quirky but popular programme featuring celebrities miming to songs (which actually looks a lot more entertaining than you might think), Mixed Martial Arts and a bunch of other programmes including Fail Army and Police Interceptors Unleashed.

Freeview, Freesat, Sky, BT and Talk TV will all feature Spike. Virgin Media subscribers will unfortunately be left waiting until a suitable agreement is found, so it might be time to become reacquainted with your TV aerials…
