Marvel Comics has released a first teaser for what looks to be an upcoming theme in their comics.
On the face of it, we see three Marvel heroes burning their Avengers IDs.
However….I suspect Skrull involvement in this upcoming event, due to Ms. Marvel’s unbelievable depiction. If Kamala Khan didn’t want to be an Avenger, she would just turn her card in. I don’t see her inviting a comparison with days of historic activism, during which draft cards—that were not just symbolic but actual conscription notices denoting future forced participation in an armed conflict—were burned. Kamala’s membership in her superhero club was not unwilling, and there are literally no consequences to burning her Avengers ID, except maybe not getting a Christmas card from Jarvis. Kamala wouldn’t make this dramatic gesture, for fear of being such an obvious example of the millennial mindset.
