The eleventh episode of Loot Anime x Crunchyroll, “Demi-Human,” featured anime and manga heroes that are tortured by their gifts—-Ken Kaneki of Tokyo Ghoul by his kagune, Rokuro and Benio of Twin Star Exorcists by their mystical prosthetics, Ichigo of Bleach by his Zangetsu sword, and Saitama of One-Punch Man by his…baldness. This month’s Loot Anime was a surprisingly lean package compared to the previous two months, but fans of these franchises know that the plenipotent power of Soul Reapers, Ghous, Exorcists, and Class B heroes can reside in modest packages, and all the items were pretty awesome.

The One-Punch Man manga makes a god-like comedian the central player of consistently absurd deconstruction of the superhero genre, and at the same time, wrings an epic narrative from ir, proving that comedy can have the grandiose scale that is usually the province of dramatic works. If you’re one of the unfortunates that have yet to visit One-Punch Man‘s world of alpha-coded cities and inanely named superheroes, Loot Anime did you a solid this month and included an exclusive variant edition of One-Punch Man Vol. 1 in the Demi-Human crate. The cover art is outstanding, and I hope to see it on a t-shirt that runs in my size some day.

Tokyo Ghoul, another compelling series, is also represented in the Demi-Human crate with this unique Tokyo Ghoul Standee Keychain Set. What is a standee keychain, you ask? Well, when you receive these chibi lovelies, you can decide whether you want to mount them on the included plastic stands, or if you’d prefer to attach them to keychains instead.

The exclusive Bleach Ichigo Watch is a pretty classy and stylish inclusion, as it comes with a battery and is ready to use upon arrival, and the manufacturer Infinifan included a one year limited warranty. Not only would it be great shelf candy for a collector, but it looks durable enough to enjoy daily use as a timepiece.

Most of this month’s Looters were probably excited by the Twin Star Exorcists t-shirt, though, due to the way the striking but minimalist black, red, and white color composition was absorbed by the deep black shirt. Using the original Japanese lettering for the franchise logo also really makes the statement that the wearer loves anime, in the case that someone isn’t paying attention. Most importantly, it feels soft and snug, but at the same time, a little heavier stock, which is perfect for the Fall months.

This month’s phone charm accessorizes well with the shirt and the watch, as like both of those wearable items, the color scheme is also white, red, and black. On the reverse side of the Loot Anime poster, we learn that this is in the shape of a “broken kitsune mask” that belongs to the Loot Anime mascot, Yume.

Loot Anime’s “Demi-Human” crate was an impressive collection of items devoted to heroes that have given much of their selves to become more than human, a passion that is sympathetic with otaku that have invested much of their time in anime and manga.
