If you are an Eternal Warrior fan then hopefully you intend to get Book of Death and with that, Valiant is releasing a tie-in series that is considered to be a “first-of-its-kind” in a comic titled; Book of Death: Legends of the Geomancer. Why is it considered something different? This comic is a limited series and is a retailer-incentive companion series. Legend of the Geomancer will be printed in limited quantities and will only be available to qualifying stores. What qualifies a store is the amount of “Book of Death” copies the store pre-orders, making Legend of the Geomancer something unique and a bit of a hard find if your local comic store is not able to get a copy.

Legends of the Geomancer: The Temple

Legends of the Geomancer was created to promote Valiant’s upcoming Book of Death event and will expand the Geomancer’s origins. The tie-in is written by Fred Van Lente and art by Juan Jose Ryp and will reveal the first Geomancer. This story flows nicely from panel to panel and is set around 3500 BC on the wide open dusty tundra. The characters are depicted as a tribal group of warriors with simple weapons of spear, stone axes, and the jawbone club.

Legends of the Geomancer

The artwork has a drab & dirty look to it which really brings the aspect of the panels to life. It truly depicts the filth and smell as if you are in the panel with the characters. I found this to be very stimulating both visually and mentally.

Legends of the Geomancer

Like Book of Death, Legends of the Geomancer will release July 15, 2015 and will be a fantastic story. If you have a chance to get this, I highly suggest it.
