Supergirl is moving to The CW from CBS for season 2. In a move that’s believed to be purely financial – CBS couldn’t justify a budget of $3 million per episode despite being their top rated new show – Supergirl will be joining The CW’s heavily comic influenced lineup which includes Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and also Riverdale.
The first season of Supergirl had average viewing figures of just over 10 million but fell behind comedies on the Monday night schedule. Executive producer Ali Adler took to Twitter to express how happy she was that Supergirl will continue.
