OwlCrate is a monthly subscription box tailored for fans of young adult books. Each box is centered around a chosen theme, announced in the prior month’s box. I’ve been subscribed since April 2017, but when I heard such great things about the previous boxes, I jumped at the chance to purchase the March 2017 box during a recent sale. The theme for that month was SAILORS, SHIPS, & SEAS.

Each box comes with one newly released young adult book, plus goodies that fit in with that month’s theme. In the March Owlcrate box, there were quite a few fun – and functional! – items I’ll use.

My favorite is probably the compass necklace made by The Geeky Cauldron.

There was also a roll of washi tape made exclusively for the March Owlcrate by Simply Gilded.

Purple mermaid scales!

They also included a really cool tea towel made by Kitch Studios in the March Owlcrate – it’s got a ship on it and the phrase: “A ship is always safe at shore, but that is not what it’s built for.”

There was also an adorable pad of paper by BoyGirlParty.

And of course this month’s book – DAUGHTER OF THE PIRATE KING by Tricia Levenseller.

The March OwlCrate was so much fun to open! I’m glad I bought it and can’t wait to dig into the book. Who doesn’t love pirates?
