Image Comics is heading to San Diego for Comic-Con next week, and they are coming in big numbers.

Their booth, #2729, will be abuzz with signings and plenty of convention exclusives, and many of the company’s creators will be attending panels throughout the weekend.

Special SDCC variants will be available for Monstress Vol. 1 by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda ($40), Snotgirl #1 by Bryan Lee O’Malley and Leslie Hung ($10), Throwaways #1 from Caitlin Kittredge and Steven Sanders, with cover art by Roberta Ingranata ($10) and a Paper Girls Book Plate with art from Cliff Chiang (free with purchase of Paper Girls Vol. 1 at the booth). Quantities will be limited by customer and per day on a first come, first served basis.

In addition, convention exclusives for Rick Remender and Sean Gordon Murphy’s Tokyo Ghost hardcover Vol. 1 ($35) and Sex Criminals hardcover Vol. 3 from Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky ($35) will also be available at the booth.

The Image panels kick off Thursday, July 21 with Creating the Zeitgeist, scheduled to run from 2-3pm in Room 23ABC. Comics are more popular than ever, and it’s all thanks to creators who are bringing their passions, interests, and original ideas to the medium. Chynna Clugston Flores (BLUE MONDAY), Kieron Gillen (THE WICKED + THE DIVINE), Marjorie Liu (MONSTRESS), and a few more special guests are making comics cooler, story by story.

The panels continue Friday morning, July 22, with Defining New Worlds, also in Room 23ABC. Comics are capable of anything, if you give them a chance. Joe Harris & Kelly Fitzpatrick are creating near-future sci-fi in SNOWFALL, Chris Burnham showed us a vision of hellish horror in NAMELESS, and Steven Seagle & Jason Katzenstein brought us an all-ages monster-themed coming-of-age tale in CAMP MIDNIGHT. They create new worlds that readers fall into and love forever, and they share their expertise here.

On Saturday, July 23, head to Room 7AB between 1-2 pm for Riffing on Reality. Works don’t have to be completely realistic to feel real—sometimes just dipping a toe in reality and then taking off in another direction will do the job. Joshua Williamson co-creates NAILBITER, Caitlin Kittredge writes THROWAWAYS, and Matt Fraction scripts ODY-C & SEX CRIMINALS. These creators and our special guests take something we know well and then throw a monkey wrench into the works, creating something familiar, but innovative, at the same time.

The final Image Comics panel, Tomorrow’s Comics Today, will take place on the convention’s day from 2-3pm in Room 7AB. What do mainstream comics look like? What appeals to “the average reader”? Bryan Lee O’Malley & Leslie Hung (SNOTGIRL), Jamie McKelvie (THE WICKED + THE DIVINE), Brandon Thomas (HORIZON), and Jim Zub (WAYWARD) are making books that appeal to anyone and everyone, and redefining the idea of mainstream comics in the process

Creator signings will take place at the Image Booth during the five days of the convention. Some signings, noted below, are ticketed signings. Wristbands are available at the booth on a first come, first served basis on signing day.
